Over the weekend a 9th illegally detained US torture victim was found dead in his cell at the CIA black site prison at Guantanamo Bay.

Americans cheered and rallied around the news.
When did I wake up into an Orwellian nightmare?
Since when do Americans condone and cheer the constitution trampling practice of illegal kidnappings being conducted by the secret police without evidence, trial or due process?
Since when have forced disappearances to secret overseas CIA torture prisons become cornerstones of the American ideals of freedom and liberty?
How can my fellow Americans cheer when those illegally detained without due process end up dead in the hands of their torturers?
Adnan Latif was one of the first individuals to be brought to the prison after he was caught on the border of Pakistan and Afghanistan nearly a decade ago.
The Yemen native claimed to be seeking medical aid at the time, but the US military accused him of being an al-Qaeda recruit.
This clearly is moment reminiscent of the German population under the indoctrinated control of Hitler’s Nazi propaganda machine.
Nothing else explains news of the death of an illegally detained CIA torture victim drawing cheers from Constitution loving Americans who value above freedom and liberty above all else.

USA Today reported on the death before the details were known:

Detainee found dead in his cell at Guantanamo

A detainee has died of undetermined causes this weekend at the U.S. military detention center at Guantanamo Bay, the U.S. military says.
The prisoner — whose name and nationality had not been released — was the ninth detainee to die at the base since it opened in January 2002, the Associated Press reports.
The U.S. Southern Command says in a statement that a medical examiner was brought in to determine the cause of death.
[...]
The detainee was found in his cell unconscious and unresponsive by guards on Saturday during a routine check and taken to a base hospital where he was declared dead “after extensive lifesaving measures had been performed,” the U.S. military says.
